Focused on Improvement: Coleman’s Quest to Break Bolt’s World Record

In August 2009, Bolt set a new world record while competing at the World Championships in Berlin. Just a year before that, he had achieved a new world record of 9.69, only 2 months and 16 days after his first time at the top. His time of 9.72 in 2008 had been enough to make him the fastest man in the world, taking over from his fellow Jamaican runner Asafa Powell, whose time of 9.74 had held for 8 months and 22 days. In comparison, Coleman has a personal best of 9.76.

Despite Coleman’s belief that he can break the world record, he is cautious not to put too much focus on being the one to surpass Bolt. He acknowledges that achieving a new record is within his reach but prefers to concentrate on his training, practices, and upcoming meets. By focusing on continuous improvement and striving to get better, he believes that the faster times will naturally follow.

Coleman’s approach to breaking the world record is unique as compared to other runners who strive for this feat with all their might. He understands that it takes consistent effort and dedication to achieve such greatness and knows that there are no shortcuts to success.

His personal best of 9.76 has kept him motivated throughout his career and gives him hope that he can one day break Bolt’s current world record of 9.58 seconds. However, Coleman knows that it won’t be an easy task as Bolt is considered one of the greatest sprinters of all time.

In conclusion, Coleman’s journey towards breaking the world record is filled with challenges but also filled with opportunities for growth and self-improvement. With his focus on training and improvement, he believes that he can achieve what many thought was impossible and become the fastest man in the world once again.
