Lincoln Northeast High School recently hosted a college fair in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Lincoln, focusing on the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. During the event, students had the opportunity to learn about various programs offered by UNL, including animal and food science, engineering, forensic science, and pre-veterinary studies.
The college fair took place on the same evening as the students’ parent-teacher conferences. Tammera Mittelstet of the ag science college and Northeast Principal Keri Applebee coordinated the event. They noted that this timing made it more convenient for students. Applebee mentioned that holding the event during the evening of conferences allowed for a larger community of stakeholders to attend.
UNL and Northeast High School are looking forward to future partnerships to provide more students with the chance to explore different opportunities and plan for their future endeavors. By working together, they hope to facilitate connections and help students visualize their paths beyond high school.
