From Cotton to Wine: The Transformation of Bingham Family Vineyards and Farms

Bingham Family Vineyards and Chez Sami Featured in Lubbock Business News

Greetings, A-J readers! This week, we delved into a range of topics including wine, fine dining, and other business news. One of the most fascinating stories we covered was my visit to Bingham Family Vineyards and Bingham Family Farms just outside of Meadow. The family and staff shared the rich history of the land, which has undergone transformations from cotton to peanuts to wine production. They recently launched a new wine at H-E-B in honor of Blake Eddie Bingham, with proceeds supporting the Blake Eddie Scholarship for viticulture and enology students at Texas Tech University and Texas A&M. In an upcoming article, we will explore the Bingham family’s legacy and its impact on the Texas wine industry.

Meanwhile, there were some exciting developments in other sectors. Chez Sami / Il Dolce Far Niente announced the closure of their Wolfforth location on June 15 while keeping their Lubbock location open. The Rollin’ Cones, an ice cream truck, will be opening a storefront and drive-thru at the former Tom & Bingo’s BBQ location on 34th St. in August or September. Additionally, Twisted Root is offering $7 Classic Burgers on Tuesday in celebration of National Hamburger Day.

Looking ahead to next week, I am eager to hear updates from potential new businesses in the area. Thank you for your continued support of the A-J and for reading our articles.
