From Financial Struggles to Success: SANYUAN Restaurantbetriebs GmbH’s Rebirth in Vienna

The unfortunate bankruptcy of a popular Chinese restaurant

The Chinese restaurant “Lucky Wok” in Vienna, owned by SANYUAN Restaurantbetriebs GmbH, recently underwent restructuring proceedings without self-administration. Founded in 2009 and employing 25 people, the company faced financial difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic due to a drop in sales and cost increases. However, restructuring measures have been implemented to stabilize the company’s operations and improve its financial performance.

In 2022, SANYUAN Restaurantbetriebs GmbH reported a retained profit of EUR 1.529 million with liabilities amounting to EUR 1.85 million. Despite these challenges, the company’s continued existence is financially secure due to the restructuring measures undertaken. These measures include adjustments to pricing and food offerings to better align with market conditions and a structured repayment plan for outstanding debts.

The restaurant offers its popular “All You Can Eat Sushi” buffet system, where customers can take whatever they like without waiting for specific dishes like in running sushi. Customers can visit the buffet as many times as they want or order individual dishes from the menu if they prefer to stay at their table. The restaurant is known for its fresh and tasty Japanese cuisine in Vienna.

Overall, SANYUAN Restaurantbetriebs GmbH is working towards a sustainable future despite recent challenges faced by implementing restructuring measures that have helped stabilize its operations and improved financial performance.
