From Football to Boxing: Greg Hardy’s Journey from Stardom to Struggle

Greg Hardy suffers a knockout defeat in Texas boxing match

In recent years, former NFL pass rusher Greg Hardy has been making waves in the fight game. After a successful 3-0 record as a pro boxer, Hardy was knocked out in a Texas Combat League match by Patrick Mailata. The 35-year-old Hardy had also participated in MMA events, where he posted a 7-5 record before being released by the UFC in 2022.

Despite his success on the field, Hardy’s off-field issues ultimately led to the end of his pro football career after one season with the Cowboys. In 2014, he had a standout season with 13.0 sacks. However, domestic violence allegations led to him missing most of the season on the Commissioner Exempt list.

In 2023, Hardy was knocked out in a bareknuckle boxing contest. Despite his past struggles with off-field issues, Hardy remains dedicated to pursuing his passion for fighting and continues to train and compete in various combat sports events.
