Business owner optimistic for improved economic outlook following break-in of food truck

Keedran Franklin, the owner of Pizza Dis Pizza Dat food truck in Memphis, is facing a daunting challenge after his truck was robbed late Friday night. Nearly everything was stolen, leaving him devastated and starting from scratch. This incident has put a pause on his plans to serve the community and contribute to the culture of Memphis.

Franklin was parked behind Growlers in Midtown when he secured a 1-year residency position at Overton Park Shell. However, when he returned to his truck later that night, he found it broken into and many items missing. He expressed a mix of anger and sadness as he surveyed the damage.

Despite being frustrated with the theft, Franklin acknowledges that it goes beyond just his personal loss. He believes that everyone should have access to resources to prevent incidents like this from happening. He hopes for a brighter economic future for Memphis where everyone can thrive without resorting to petty crimes.

In response to the robbery, an online Go Fund Me campaign has been launched by Overton Park Shell’s director to help Franklin recover and get back on track with his food truck business. The community has come together in support of Franklin during this challenging time, showing solidarity in the face of adversity.

The incident has left Franklin feeling overwhelmed but determined to rebuild his business once again. With the support of the community and resources available, he hopes to continue providing food options for Memphians while promoting a safer environment for all.
