As parents of tweens and teens, you may be wondering if it’s time for your child to have their own phone. Before making a decision, it’s important to consider several factors. At Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, a nonprofit organization based in Franklin, Delaware, Licking, and Fairfield counties, they understand that as parents, you don’t know everything. That’s why they have launched a summer-long parenting series to provide you with the information and resources you need to make an informed decision.
The series includes workshops, online pep talks, on-demand courses, and a library of information on various topics. All of these resources are provided free of charge thanks to funding from the Columbus Foundation. The hour-long courses and 15-minute livestreamed pep talks began in May and will continue throughout June, July, and August. Topics covered include positive discipline, parenting children with ADHD, self-care for parents, children’s sexual development, prenatal and postpartum care, safe social media use and more.
