From Sprinting Champ to Cornhusker Football: The Journey of Mitchell Hupp

Nebraska Football Extends Walk-On Offer to In-State Sprint Champion

Nebraska high school sprinting champion Mitchell Hupp has received a preferred walk-on spot with the Cornhusker football team. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, Hupp is a linebacker from Stanton High School in Stanton, Nebraska.

Hupp had an impressive season with Stanton High, helping them win the Nebraska Class D1 Football State Championship. In addition to his football success, he also excelled in track and field, winning the Nebraska Class C titles in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. His impressive times include 10.8 seconds in the 100m and 21.79 seconds in the 200m.

As Husker Online reports, Hupp is currently deciding between walking on with the Cornhuskers or running track at Wayne State next season. However, as a high school sprinting champion, it’s clear that he has what it takes to succeed in any athletic endeavor he chooses to pursue.
