Fairmont State University’s Director of Health, Chelsea Collins, has been recognized as a Generation Next: 40 Under 40 finalist for her outstanding contributions to student health and community wellness initiatives. She was honored at an award ceremony held at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center on June 19.
Collins’ remarkable achievements at FSU include enhancing the university’s Student Health Center, organizing a Stomp Out the Stigma event to raise awareness about suicide prevention, launching the Falcon Mental Health Awareness program, and hosting campus wellness fairs to promote health and well-being. Her success is attributed to the values instilled by her parents and the support of her colleagues at FSU.
In a statement, Collins expressed gratitude for being recognized among West Virginia’s top leaders in her field and emphasized her commitment to supporting the growth and well-being of FSU students. She views her work as a privilege and hopes to inspire future generations of local leaders.
