This summer, the Giants and Jets are set to spend some extra time together. Both teams play a preseason game each year, and it has been announced that they will be having a joint practice at MetLife Stadium. The Giants will be the home team for this year’s game, and since it is the final exhibition for both clubs, any practice work would be conducted at the Jets’ facility.
Last August, Aaron Rodgers made his debut during the preseason game between the Giants and Jets, throwing a touchdown to Garrett Wilson. However, by the time the teams met in the regular season, Rodgers was no longer a part of the game. The Jets ended up winning that match 13-10 in overtime, with Tommy DeVito making his NFL debut in relief of the injured Tyrod Taylor.
Taylor is now a Jet, and DeVito is behind Daniel Jones and Drew Lock on the Giants’ depth chart. It is uncertain whether Jones will be playing in any preseason games as he makes his return from a torn ACL. In addition to practicing with the Jets, the Giants also plan to have a joint practice with the Lions before their first preseason game, which will take place at MetLife Stadium on August 8th.
