Global Corruption Probe: French Police Search Thales Military Equipment Supplier’s Offices

Thales offices searched in France, Spain, and the Netherlands amid corruption suspicions

French, Spanish, and Dutch police have carried out searches at the offices of French military equipment supplier Thales as part of a corruption investigation, according to a judicial source. The company has confirmed that the searches took place but did not provide further details, stating only that they are cooperating with authorities.

Thales is under investigation in two separate cases. The first case, initiated in 2016, involves suspected corruption, criminal association, and money laundering related to the sale of submarines and a naval base construction in Brazil. The second case, opened a year ago, focuses on corruption, influence trafficking, criminal conspiracy, and money laundering associated with the sale of military and civilian equipment abroad.

The Thales spokesperson emphasized the company’s adherence to national and international regulations. They highlighted the implementation of a comprehensive compliance program that meets industry standards. The investigations into the allegations are still ongoing.
