Santiago, Chile has been chosen to host the 2027 Special Olympics World Games, marking the first time a Latin American city will host the event. The federal and city governments have allocated $134 million for the World Games, which are expected to attract more than 6,000 Special Olympics athletes from over 170 countries. The decision by the Special Olympics International board brings the event to the Southern Hemisphere for the first time in its 55-year history. Organizers of the Paris Paralympic Games are launching an advertising campaign to boost ticket sales for the event taking place this August and September. So far, only 300,000 tickets have been purchased by the public out of a total of 900,000 sold. The French public sector organizations and the Olympic and Paralympic committees have purchased the remaining 600,000 tickets to support the event.

Meanwhile, Premiership Rugby is considering rebranding as part of an effort to attract new supporters and engage new audiences. The top tier of English rugby has ambitious plans to reshape the club game and attract sponsors to further enhance the sport. In other news, French Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra has called for strict sanctions against AS Monaco midfielder Mohamed Camara and his club after he covered a badge in support of the LGBTQ community on his playing jersey during a Ligue 1 game.

Finally, Yorkshire cricket club has garnered interest from investors in Saudi Arabia, India, and United States but stated that any financial deal for its future security must involve a transition from being member-owned to demutualized status.
