Green Bay Packers Diversify Medical Staff with Addition of Orthopedic Specialist Richard Ingram through NFL Diversity in Sports Medicine Pipeline Initiative.

Green Bay Packers reveal their selection for the NFL Diversity in Sports Medicine Pipeline Initiative.

The NFL Diversity in Sports Medicine Pipeline Initiative recently gained a new member as the Green Bay Packers announced the addition of Richard Ingram to their medical staff for training camp. This move is part of an ongoing league-wide expansion of the program, which aims to increase and diversify the pipeline of students interested in pursuing careers in sports medicine.

Ingram, a student at Meharry Medical College, specializes in orthopedics and played outside linebacker/strong safety at Mississippi College, where he majored in biology medical science with a minor in psychology. He was also recognized as a 2022 Nth Dimensions Scholar, an organization that supports underrepresented minorities and women in the field of medicine.

General Manager Brian Gutekunst made the announcement on Tuesday about Ingram’s addition to the Packers’ medical staff. As part of the NFL Diversity in Sports Medicine Pipeline Initiative, Ingram will complete a clinical rotation with NFL club medical staff during training camp. This program aims to help diversify NFL club medical staff over time and make a positive impact in the medical field by increasing and diversifying the pipeline of students interested in sports medicine careers.
