Hamad International Airport Wins Best Airport in the World for 2024, While Some US Airports Slip in Rankings

Hamad International Airport in Doha has been crowned the “Best Airport in the World” for 2024, surpassing Singapore Changi, which held the title for 12 consecutive years. Seoul Incheon Airport secured third place and was also named the most family-friendly airport of 2024. Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports took fourth and fifth place respectively.

US airports did not perform well in the rankings, with Seattle-Tacoma slipping six places to 24th. European airports had a strong showing, with Paris Charles de Gaulle, Munich, Zurich, and Istanbul maintaining positions in the top 10. Notable movements in the rankings included New York’s JFK falling to 93rd place and London Heathrow moving up one spot to 21st. Japan’s Okinawa made a big leap from 199th to 91st place.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Badr Al Meer expressed his honor at Hamad International Airport being voted the “Best Airport in the World” for a third time, especially as it celebrates its 10th year of operation. The list of top airports for 2024 includes Dubai, Rome Fiumicino, Vienna and Madrid-Barajas among others.
