Marta set to participate in her sixth Olympic Games representing Brazil

The legendary Brazilian football player Marta has been chosen to represent her country at the upcoming Paris Olympics this summer, marking her sixth appearance at the Games. With an impressive 118 goals in 183 games for Brazil, Marta, who is 38 years old, announced that she will retire from international football after this competition.

Brazil manager Arthur Elias expressed high praise for Marta as “the greatest athlete of all time.” He also emphasized the importance of teamwork in achieving success and acknowledged the value Marta brings to the team. Currently playing for Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League, Marta showcases her skills on both club and international levels.

Despite her numerous achievements, including being the all-time leading goal-scorer in World Cups for both men and women with 17 goals in 23 appearances across six editions of the tournament, Marta has faced challenges in past competitions.
