On Saturday, the IDF conducted an investigation following reports of gunfire heard near World Food Program workers along the Humanitarian Route from the Kerem Shalom Crossing on Friday. The investigation found that Israeli forces neutralized two gunmen who posed a threat to troops in the area. However, it was emphasized that no danger was posed to the aid workers as the gunmen were not close to the UN team during the strike.
In a separate incident involving reports of a shooting in the Al Mawasi area on Friday, the IDF stated that they are examining the incident. According to an initial inquiry, there was no direct attack carried out by the IDF against a Red Cross facility in the area. The findings of the investigation will be shared with Israel’s partners and international officials for further review and assessment.
The IDF clarified that the UN workers were not the target of the operation and were not harmed as a result of the military’s actions against the terrorist operatives. The Israeli military has been working closely with international organizations to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those in need while maintaining security for its own forces and citizens.
