Israeli soldiers under investigation by IDF

Israeli security forces are currently investigating soldiers who tied an injured Palestinian prisoner to an army vehicle during a raid in Jenin. The suspect was arrested during the operation and found to be in violation of orders and applicable rules when he was tied to the vehicle, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Sunday.

The incident is under investigation, and the IDF has stressed that the behavior of its forces in the video does not align with its values. A video of the incident that occurred on Saturday had been circulating online, showing a man strapped horizontally to the hood of a military jeep as it drove down a narrow street.

Jenin has long been known as a stronghold for militant Palestinian groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Israeli security forces regularly conduct raids in Jenin and the refugee settlement of the same name. Violence in the Israeli-occupied West Bank has escalated since the beginning of the war in Gaza against Hamas, which has resulted in at least 549 Palestinians being killed by Israeli soldiers or extremist settlers, as reported by Palestinian sources. Additionally, at least 14 Israelis have lost their lives in attacks by radical Palestinians, according to Israeli sources.
