India’s cricket team has started preparations for the upcoming ICC 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be held in the USA and West Indies starting from June 2. The first batch of Indian cricketers, including captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and head coach Rahul Dravid, have arrived in New York and are currently undergoing training sessions.

Pictures shared by Bumrah and Yadav on social media show the team working hard to get into top shape for the tournament. The Men in Blue have been placed in Group A alongside rivals Pakistan, co-hosts USA, Ireland, and Canada. They are set to begin their World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York. Before the main event, the team will play a warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1.

India’s previous T20 World Cup appearance saw them fall short in the semi-finals against England in Australia. England went on to win the tournament by defeating Pakistan in the final. However, India is determined to make a comeback and bring home their first trophy since their victory over Pakistan in 2007 under MS Dhoni’s leadership.
