Innovative Agribusiness: How Ha Tinh province is transforming its agricultural sector through technological advancements.

Science and technology boost the value of agricultural products in Ha Tinh

In Ha Tinh province, the Department of Science and Technology has been at the forefront of promoting economic growth through the application of technology in agriculture. Their research and development efforts have resulted in significant improvements in productivity and quality for key local products such as Phalaenopsis orchids, Panax notoginseng, and high-tech shrimp farming.

The department has successfully developed models for producing Phalaenopsis orchids and Panax notoginseng using high technology that have shown promising yields. Similarly, households raising giant freshwater prawns have benefited from the application of artificial intelligence technology. These advancements have led to an increase in product value and economic growth in the region.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Tran Hong Thai, recognized the success of these projects during a visit to a high-tech agricultural model producing Phalaenopsis orchids in Thach Khe commune, Thach Ha district. The program supporting the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances in rural and mountainous areas has played a crucial role in these advancements.

The department is also focusing on a project for experimental planting models of Bo Chinh Ginseng in Thach Ha district. This project aims to establish a foundation for expanding ginseng cultivation and replacing low-value crops in the area. The application of technology has led to significant improvements in growth rates and potential yields.

Furthermore, high-tech intensive shrimp farming has been successful in various districts across Ha Tinh province, with new technologies being used to increase farming efficiency. Models such as farming on floating round tanks, indoors, and biosafety farming have shown promise in improving productivity while reducing disease rates among shrimp populations.

Overall, the Department of Science and Technology’s initiatives have contributed significantly to economic growth and development by increasing product value while restructuring the agricultural sector towards higher added value products.
