Innovative Environmental Data Science Program Launched at Michigan Technological University Amid Growing Demand for Data Scientists in Environmental Analysis

New Environmental Data Sciences Program to be Launched by Michigan Technological University in the Fall

Michigan Technological University is set to introduce a new Environmental Data Science program on campus this fall semester. The decision to expand program offerings comes in response to the growing need for data scientists in the field of environmental analysis.

Michigan Tech originally launched its data science master’s program in 2014, recognizing the importance of understanding and interpreting data in today’s world. Associate Dean of Data Science Initiatives in the College of Computing, Laura Brown, highlights the significance of data literacy for all students on campus, regardless of their program focus.

The Environmental Data Science program builds upon the university’s existing data science program, which was first introduced in 2023. For more information and details about the new program, please visit the university’s website.
