According to sources, five prisoners have taken two guards hostage and claimed to be supporters of ISIS, a terrorist organization. The Russian Federal Prison Service has confirmed that the detainees have taken two employees of the investigative prison hostage, but stated that the institution is operating normally and the situation is under control.

The area around the detention center has limited road traffic as authorities work to resolve the hostage situation. Unnamed sources reported by Interfax agency stated that the detainees are demanding a car and a free exit from the center.
