Jayvan Boggs Commits to Missouri: Will He Make a Difference for Trojans?

Jayvan Boggs, a highly-touted four-star wide receiver from Cocoa, Florida, has made his college commitment official. On the Fourth of July, Boggs announced his decision to attend Missouri on the Rivals Instagram page. According to Andrew Ivins, the director of scouting at 247Sports, Boggs has the potential to be a multi-year Power Four starter and could see playing time early due to his polished skills.

In his junior year at Cocoa High School, Boggs was recognized for his outstanding performance on the field by being named to the 2023 MaxPreps High School Football Junior All-America Team. He had an impressive 93 receptions for 1,493 yards and 23 touchdowns in that season. This earned him both all-state and national accolades.

Despite receiving offers from over two dozen schools, Boggs ultimately chose Missouri over UCF, USC, Florida, Georgia, and Notre Dame. He had planned official visits to Georgia and USC in July but opted to cancel those trips in favor of committing to Missouri.

While USC recently managed to secure a commitment from another wide receiver, Corey Simms, over Missouri and Penn State, Boggs’ decision is not expected to have a significant impact on the Trojans. USC is looking to strengthen their defense, particularly their defensive line
