John Force, 75, Seriously Injured in NHRA Virginia Nationals Crash

John Force admitted to hospital following intense crash at Virginia Nationals

During the NHRA Virginia Nationals, John Force, a 75-year-old Hall of Fame driver and car owner, was involved in a fiery crash that left him with injuries. Despite being conscious and alert when he was rescued from the wreckage, the details of the extent of his injuries have not been disclosed. However, his team’s social media post mentioned that he was undergoing evaluation in the Intensive Care Unit.

Just before the accident occurred, Force had won his first round race at Virginia Motorsports Park, crossing the finish line in 4.100 seconds at a speed of 302.62 miles per hour. Unfortunately, a catastrophic engine failure caused his car to catch fire and collide with the concrete guardrail on the left side of the track before veering across to the right guardrail and coming to a stop in the middle of it.

Despite this setback, Force had been performing well in the NHRA season up until this point. With two wins in eight races so far this season, he was leading second place in points standings behind his teammate Austin Prock. Following Force’s accident, Prock went on to win the round, continuing their team’s success in competition.
