Josh Maravich, the son of legendary LSU basketball player Pete Maravich, has passed away at the age of 42. His cause of death was not disclosed, but it was reported that he died at his family home in Covington, Louisiana. Despite growing up without their father, Josh continued to pursue basketball. He attended St. Paul’s School in Covington, where he excelled on the court.
When Pete Maravich died of heart failure at the age of 40, Josh was only 5 years old. However, this tragedy did not deter him from following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a successful basketball player himself. Despite not being highly recruited, Josh fulfilled his dream of playing college basketball at LSU by walking on to the team and scoring a total of four points in seven career games under head coach John Brady.
Even after graduating from LSU, Josh remained connected to the university and played a role in creating a statue honoring his father on campus. Details about his funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
