Kandiyohi County Board to Discuss Transfer of Ownership of Adult Behavioral Health Facility, 10-Year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan and other Important Matters

“Ownership of Behavioral Health Facility on Kandiyohi County Board Agenda for Discussion” – West Central Tribune

The Kandiyohi County Board is set to discuss several important issues at its upcoming meeting on July 2nd. The board will gather in the chambers at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services building in Willmar at 9 a.m.

One of the main topics on the agenda is the potential transfer of ownership of an adult behavioral health facility built by the county in 2008 on Olena Avenue Southeast in Willmar and currently leased to the state. With the final lease payment made in 2018, a transfer would simplify operations for both parties. Additionally, updates will be provided by Safe Avenues, a regional provider of shelter and advocacy for victims of domestic or sexual violence, as well as the Primacy Strategy Group, which is seeking federal funding opportunities for various county projects.

Another item up for discussion is adopting a proposed 10-year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan that outlines solid waste programs. This plan aims to improve waste management practices in Kandiyohi County. Furthermore, a memorandum of agreement with nonprofit Children’s Dental Services to provide dental care for low-income children will be discussed, and a resolution to vacate part of Brower Avenue right-of-way along Green Lake’s north shore will also be considered. Bids for grading and surfacing County Road 104 near Diamond Lake Park and line painting on Kandiyohi County highways will also be presented at this meeting.
