Lafayette County Supervisors Approve Site Plans for New Restaurant, Subdivisions and Housing

In a recent meeting, the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors greenlit several site plans for various projects. One of these projects includes The County Line Grill, a new restaurant that will be located near the Panola County line on Highway 310. The owners, Rickey and Penny Roberts, received approval on their final site plan from the supervisors.

Another project that received approval is Old Oaks of Oxford, located on County Road 217 (Campground Road). This development received approval for its Phase 10 final commercial subdivision plat, which consists of 19 lots. Joel Hollowell, director of development services, commended the owners of Old Oaks for their exemplary business practices and success with the project thus far.

The Merion subdivision also received approval for its Phase 2 preliminary subdivision plat. This subdivision had previously been granted a conditional use permit for a 146-lot subdivision in 2021. They received final approval for 49 lots in Phase 1 in July 2023 and are now moving forward with an additional 57 lots in Phase 2. Sales have been successful for the Merion subdivision, with 21 houses sold as of May 17 and many more under construction.

Furthermore, the Board approved the preliminary and final site plan for the future Pine Crest Cove subdivision off CR 217. This new development plans to build 30 one-bedroom homes and two-bedroom homes. The approval of these site plans is a positive step forward for economic development in Lafayette County and will provide new housing options for residents in the area.

These approvals mark an exciting time for Lafayette County as they continue to grow and develop new projects that benefit both residents and businesses alike.
