Travis Hawks has been named the general manager of Learfield’s Coyote Sports Properties, which serves as the multimedia rights holder and sports marketing arm for the University of South Dakota athletics. Hawks expressed his enthusiasm and dedication to leading the organization and the university’s athletics program to new heights with his expertise in business development, strategy, relationship building, and team leadership.
Hawks previously worked as the Senior Manager of Business Development at Wyoming Sports Properties before joining Learfield in 2017. During his time in Wyoming, he surpassed sales targets by developing innovative sponsorship packages, establishing strong partnerships with local, regional, and national organizations, and expanding revenue streams. He also created customized collaborations with businesses to connect their brands with the University of Wyoming’s passionate fan base.
Hawks’ achievements at Learfield include being recognized as a member of the Learfield Chairman’s Club in 2022-23 and receiving the Deal of the Year award in 2023. South Dakota associate athletic director for fan engagement Jarren Duffy praised Hawks as an accomplished leader who excels at building relationships and implementing creative solutions. Duffy is excited about what the future holds under Hawks’ leadership at Coyote Sports Properties and anticipates new game day activations that will engage fans even more.
Before joining Learfield, Hawks honed his skills in sales roles with the Helena Brewers Professional Baseball team and the Mobile BayBears Professional Baseball team. He demonstrated a proven track record of driving revenue growth and increasing game day attendance for both organizations.
