Leeds United Makes £40m Double Signing: Gray Joins Tottenham for $30M and Rodon Returns with a $10M Deal

Tottenham completes the signing of Gray from Leeds for approximately £30 million

Leeds United has sold 18-year-old forward Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur for around £30m, while defender Joe Rodon has joined Leeds from Tottenham in a deal worth about £10m. The sale of Gray is expected to help Leeds comply with profit and sustainability rules following their loss in the Championship play-off final last season.

Gray, who played several matches in various positions for Leeds last season, is the great-nephew of Leeds legend Eddie Gray. After being on loan with Brentford, he had initially agreed to sign with the club but was rejected due to payment structure disagreements. However, after meeting a release clause triggered by Leeds’ failure to secure promotion in the previous season, Gray signed a contract with Spurs until 2030.

Meanwhile, Wales international Joe Rodon has signed a four-year deal with Leeds after spending last season on loan with the club from Tottenham. This move is seen as strengthening Leeds’ defense and improving their chances of promotion within the league’s financial regulations next season.
