The LIV Golf Nashville event is taking place from Friday to Sunday at The Grove in College Grove, Tennessee. Caleb Surratt, a former Vol who is currently tied for 20th place with a score of -1 after the first round on Friday, is one of the participants. Legion XIII, the team that Surratt represents, is currently in fourth place with a score of -8 after the first round. This puts them six strokes behind Fireballs GC, who are leading with a score of -14.
The LIV Golf format includes 12 teams, 48 players, and features zero cuts with shotgun starts. Each stroke counts for the individual event and the winner is determined by the player with the lowest total number of shots after 54 holes. The team event combines scores from the top three players on each team towards their total score. During the first two days of each event only the top three players’ scores are considered for their team’s round. On the final day all four players’ scores are counted. The top eight teams earn points in the team standings. This information was originally published on Vols Wire and photo credit: Manuel Velasquez/Getty Images
