Liverpool’s New Head Coach, Arne Slot Brings Familiar Faces to His Coaching Staff

Liverpool announce appointment of Feyenoord coach as Arne Slot’s assistant

Liverpool appointed Arne Slot as their new head coach in June, leaving his previous club Feyenoord to take on the new role. To support him in this new position, Liverpool welcomed three new members to their backroom staff. Sipke Hulshoff, who had been Slot’s number two at Feyenoord since 2022 and made the move to Liverpool shortly after Slot’s arrival, joined as an assistant coach.

Ruben Peeters was also brought on board as the lead physical performance coach for Liverpool. Fabian Otte came from the USA national team after the conclusion of the Copa America this summer and was named the new head goalkeeping coach. Slot’s appointment as head coach came after Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the end of the previous season, following his eight-and-a-half years as manager of Liverpool.

Slot expressed his desire to bring familiar faces to his coaching staff who understand his playing style and can help implement it at Liverpool. He emphasized the importance of combining his and Hulshoff’s knowledge with the existing expertise at the club to create a successful environment for their players. The new coaching team will make their debut against Ipswich on 17 August, which was confirmed as a 12:30pm kick-off in the Premier League fixture release.
