Local Nurse Charged with Felony for Unauthorized Practice of Health Profession in Oakland County

Unlicensed nurse in Oakland County faces 30 charges for unauthorized health profession practice

Cassandra Alvera Gilleylen, 52, of Flint is currently facing serious legal charges in Oakland County. She has been accused of 30 counts of the unauthorized practice of a health profession, a felony that carries a four-year sentence, as well as three counts of identity theft, another felony with a five-year sentence.

According to officials, Gilleylen was charged following an investigation into a complaint that she worked as a registered nurse at three nursing facilities in Oakland County without a valid RN license. The investigation revealed that she worked under the name “Cassandra Alvera Bowens” at Mission Point of Clarkston, Mission Point of Holly, and Wellbridge of Clarkston from September 24, 2023 to March 5, 2024. It is alleged that she did not hold the proper credentials or educational background to work as an RN during that time.

Gilleylen was given a $75,000 personal recognizance bond and her next court appearance is scheduled for a probable cause conference on June 4 at 2 p.m., followed by a preliminary examination on June 11 at 2 p.m. Copyright 2024 by WDIV ClickOnDetroit – All rights reserved.
