LSU baseball player Will Hellmers was honored with his degree in general business during graduation ceremonies held on campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This achievement reflects the academic success that is a cornerstone of the LSU baseball program. Over the past 17 years, a total of 120 student-athletes have earned degrees, and LSU baseball players have been recognized on the SEC Academic Honor Roll 175 times since 2007.
Hellmers, a right-handed pitcher from Metairie, Louisiana, is currently in his fourth season with the LSU program. Throughout his career, he has appeared in 46 games on the mound, making 13 starts. With a 9-2 career record and 75 strikeouts in 74.2 innings, Hellmers has proved to be a valuable asset to the team.
During the current season, Hellmers has made 15 relief appearances, achieving a record of 1-0 and a 4.15 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 13 innings. His consistent performance on the field is matched by his dedication to academics, as demonstrated by his three-time inclusion in the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
