LSU’s Quest for Top Quarterback: A Look at Faizon Brandon and the Battle for His Commitment

Reaction from the top quarterback in the class of 2026 following his recent visit to LSU

LSU is on a mission to land the top quarterback in the country for the second consecutive cycle. After securing a commitment from Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall player in America, they are now setting their sights on Faizon Brandon, the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class.

Brandon, originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, is ranked as a top-10 prospect and the No. 2 quarterback in the 2024 cycle by On3’s industry rankings. However, both On3 and 247Sports consider him the top quarterback in their own rankings, with the latter also ranking him as the No. 1 overall player in the cycle.

After his recent visit to Baton Rouge where he met with the coaching staff to discuss his development process, Brandon seems to have had a positive experience. He is now LSU’s top target on their quarterback board after fellow five-star Dia Bell committed to Texas earlier this week and another four-star quarterback Brady Hart committed to Michigan after his visit to LSU.

While Tennessee currently appears to be leading LSU’s pursuit of Brandon, they remain hopeful that they can keep him interested as they continue to host him for three visits before his signing day. With time before he makes a decision, LSU will continue its efforts to secure another top quarterback for its program.
