Mahershala Ali Joins Upcoming Jurassic World: A New Chapter for the Beloved Franchise

Mahershala Ali Set to Join Newest Addition

Mahershala Ali, widely recognized for his award-winning performances in Green Book and Moonlight, is currently in negotiations to join the upcoming installment of the Jurassic World series from Universal Pictures. The movie is expected to introduce a brand new storyline and has been kept under wraps with details about the character Ali will play and the plot remaining secret.

Gareth Edwards is set to direct the movie with a script by David Koepp. The film is being produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley for Kennedy-Marshall, with Steven Spielberg executive producing for Amblin Entertainment. Scarlett Johansson, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Jonathan Bailey, and Rupert Friend are among the cast members announced so far.

Ali’s potential casting in Jurassic World was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. In addition to his work on Jurassic World, he has a busy future schedule with projects like Wildwood, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and Marvel’s Blade. He recently appeared in Sam Esmail’s thriller Leave the World Behind which became a huge hit on Netflix. He also set to reprise his role in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and star in Apple TV+’s Swan Song.
