Many had speculated that United would look to make a change at the managerial position, with names like Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate being linked to the club.
INEOS owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who had been rumored to be considering other options, ultimately decided to continue with Ten Hag. The manager faced challenges last season due to the absence of key players like Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, and Raphael Varane. Additionally, there were reported strained relationships with some players, including Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
Despite the criticisms, Ten Hag did manage to guide the team to an FA Cup victory, suggesting that there might not be a better option available at the moment.
