A manhunt is underway for Billy Kearse, a 71-year-old who went missing on Tuesday morning in Cherokee County. Last seen walking along Ann’s Trail near Scruggs Trail in Gaffney at around 10:00 a.m., Kearse was accompanied by his small Chihuahua dog and was on his way to go fishing when he disappeared.
Kearse has several health concerns, including a tracheotomy and the use of a voice box amplifier. He stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has shoulder-length gray hair with a tattoo on his left upper arm that says “Jennie.”
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about Kearse’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or the Cherokee 911 Center at 864-487-2747. The office is working diligently to locate Kearse and ensure his safe return home.
