Mansfield Town’s Quest to Sign Leicester City Defender: A Battle for Brunt’s Future in League One

Clough Confirms Brunt as Mansfield’s Top Target

Keanu Baccus, a talented Australia midfielder, is the latest addition to Mansfield Town’s summer transfer window. The Stags have also secured Frazer Blake-Tracy as their new full-back and brought back striker Lee Gregory after 13 years. Manager Nigel Clough is hopeful that these signings will help the team maintain their momentum in League One.

However, it’s Brunt, a defender for Leicester City, who remains the top target for Mansfield this summer. The Stags are determined to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent deal after an impressive loan spell last season that helped them secure promotion to League Two. Although their opening bid was rejected, they remain undeterred and continue negotiations with Leicester.

Clough has highlighted Brunt’s potential to continue performing well in League One and increase his value to Leicester in the future. However, he has also mentioned the possibility of a loan deal if a permanent transfer does not work out. Despite differences in valuation, Clough emphasized that they will not give up on signing Brunt.
