In the clip, Lawrence and co-star Will Smith were on a bus addressing the crowd, with Lawrence appearing seemingly unsteady. People on social media pointed out that Lawrence seemed less energetic than Smith.
On Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, Lawrence and Smith were asked about the speculation regarding Lawrence’s health by host Ebro Darden. Lawrence joked about being surprised by the size of the crowds and clarified that he was fine, adding that he’s in God’s hands and blessed to wake up every day. During the interview, Lawrence reassured fans that he is healthy and that there is no need for concern. He even joked at the end, telling speculators on social media to stop the rumors.
This comes after Lawrence had faced health challenges in the past, including an incident in 1996 where he was hospitalized due to extreme exhaustion and dehydration, as well as slipping into a coma in 1999 after collapsing from severe heat exhaustion while exercising.
