The Mets have strengthened their pitching depth by acquiring right-handed reliever Ty Adcock from the Detroit Tigers. After being claimed, Adcock was sent to Triple-A Syracuse. Last season, the 26-year-old had a solid 3.45 ERA (5.17 FIP) and 0.70 WHIP in 15.2 innings over 12 appearances for the Seattle Mariners.
During his time in Triple-A this season, Adcock struggled with an 8.64 ERA and 2.04 WHIP in 8.1 innings over nine appearances for both the Mariners and Tigers. Throughout his three-year minor league career, Adcock has a 4.62 ERA and 1.189 WHIP, striking out an impressive 10.7 batters per nine across 37.0 innings. Originally drafted by the Mariners in the eighth round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Elon University, Adcock is looking forward to making a positive impact on the Mets’ pitching rotation this season as he continues to develop his skills on the mound.
