Midland Police and Sheriff’s Office Keeping Busy with Property Damage, Fraud, and Weapon Recovery Incidents

Coleman Business Reports Property Damage of $100

The Midland Police Department and Sheriff’s Office have been keeping busy lately, with several incidents taking place over the weekend. On Saturday at 1:14 p.m., Midland police responded to a property damage crash at West Indian in Jerome Township. Earlier that day at 10:35 a.m., they also responded to a private property damage crash in the 6900 block of Eastman.

Later that evening, a deputy from the Sheriff’s Office spoke with a 42-year-old suspect from Coleman for a complaint of malicious destruction of property amounting to $100 worth of damage. Meanwhile, on Sunday at 8:46 am, Ingersoll Township saw a deputy speak with a 60-year-old man about fraudulent transactions on his business bank account statement. The man filed a claim with his bank and was reimbursed for the fraudulent transactions.

On Saturday at 3:01 pm, a deputy also spoke with a 51-year-old man who found a handgun after it fell off his vehicle while he was driving home. The gun owner was located and counseled on firearm responsibility, and the handgun was returned to him. Additionally, on Saturday at 4:33 pm, MyMichigan Medical Center treated an individual who was found to be in possession of controlled substances while receiving medical care there.
