NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Texas Motor Speedway Qualifier: A Battle for Pole Position

Cole Custer, the 2018 winner at Texas Motor Speedway, qualified in second place for Saturday afternoon’s race. His fast lap of 185.471 mph was only 0.001 mph faster than Rookie Jesse Love’s pole-winning lap of 185.612 mph, securing him his third pole award of the season and first since February’s race in Atlanta.

Jesse Love, who has been making waves in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this year, earned the pole position with a strong performance on the track. He had to fight off Taylor Gray and Chandler Smith, who finished third and fourth respectively, as well as Riley Herbst, who rounded out the top five qualifiers. All three drivers put on impressive showings during qualifying.

The action at Texas Motor Speedway is set to kick off at 1:32 p.m. ET with FS1 providing live coverage. Pre-race festivities will begin at 12:30 p.m. ET with NASCAR RaceDay, leading up to the start of the race.

Despite having only 38 drivers on the entry list, all were able to secure spots for Saturday’s race thanks to their strong performances during qualifying.

In addition to Custer and Love, several other drivers are vying for a spot in Saturday’s race including Justin Allgaier, Sam Mayer, and Sheldon Creed who are all part of the Dash 4 Cash program which offers a $100,000 bonus to its winners.

Overall it is going to be an exciting day at Texas Motor Speedway as fans eagerly await the start of the race and root for their favorite drivers to come out on top!
