NBA Free Agency: Sixers Eye Klay Thompson and Paul George as Potential Additions to Offense

Report: Klay Thompson to hold talks with Sixers and multiple other teams

As NBA free agency begins, the Sixers have shown interest in Klay Thompson. According to ESPN and The Athletic, Thompson is one of the players that the Sixers plan to speak with, alongside the Mavericks, Lakers, and Clippers. It is reported that Thompson is leaving the Warriors and exploring sign-and-trade options.

In addition to Thompson, the Sixers also have interest in Paul George. George is expected to speak with the Clippers, Sixers, and Magic as free agency gets underway. The Sixers are looking to add outside shooting alongside stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. With a career average of 41.3 percent from beyond the arc and last season shooting 38.7 percent on 9.0 attempts per game, Thompson’s three-point shooting ability would be a valuable asset for the team.

Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey has emphasized the importance of shooting around Embiid, recognizing that having shooters on the team makes him even more effective on the court. With George’s experience as a veteran wing player and his ability to score from anywhere on the court, he could provide a great complement to Embiid and Maxey in Philadelphia’s offense.
