NBA Teams Gearing Up for June 2024 Draft: Thunder’s Predraft Activities and Meetings with Prospects

Jermaine Couisnard from Oregon participates in predraft workout with Thunder

With June 2024 rapidly approaching, NBA teams are gearing up for their predraft activities by hosting players for workouts and visits. The Oklahoma City Thunder is no exception as they prepare for the upcoming draft, scheduled to take place from June 26-27.

As the No. 12 overall pick in this year’s draft, which was acquired through a trade with the Houston Rockets, the Thunder will have a busy schedule ahead of them in the coming weeks. They plan on meeting with several draft prospects, including those outside of the lottery range, in order to make an informed decision come draft day.

One player who has already had a predraft workout with the Thunder is Oregon’s Jermaine Couisnard. A 25-year-old guard, Couisnard played five college seasons from 2019-24 at South Carolina before transferring to Oregon for his final two years. In his most recent season, he averaged an impressive 16.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting an impressive 40% from the field and 34.6% from beyond the arc on nearly six attempts per game. Standing at a towering 6-foot-4 and weighing in at 215 pounds, Couisnard possesses good size for his position.

While he may be considered an undrafted free agent target, Couisnard could have a chance to join the Thunder’s summer league team and potentially earn a spot with their G League affiliate, OKC Blue, for next season if he performs well during workouts and visits with the team.
