Last week, the Golden State Warriors had two openings on their coaching staff. These spots have now been filled by Terry Stotts and Jerry Stackhouse. They are expected to join Steve Kerr on the front bench alongside Kris Weems, who will fill the third spot.

Stotts, 66, has 13 years of head-coaching experience and was most recently with the Portland Trail Blazers. He resigned from the Milwaukee Bucks last summer after discord with head coach Adrian Griffin. Stotts will take on the top assistant role left vacant by Kenny Atkinson, who took the head coaching job with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Stackhouse, 49, is a former NBA All-Star player who turned to coaching after retiring in 2013. He has experience coaching in the G League and previously served as an assistant with the Memphis Grizzlies. His spot on the staff was created by the passing of assistant Dejan “Deki” Milojević in February.

Kerr decided to bring in coaches with previous head-coaching experience after Atkinson left. With Stotts’ experience and Stackhouse’s strong personality, the Warriors’ coaching staff is expected to be stronger next season.
