Belgian Dieter Vranckx has been appointed chairman of Brussels Airlines, the holding company of Lufthansa Group. Vranckx previously served as CEO of Brussels Airlines from 2018 to 2021, and now takes over the role from Christina Foerster, who is leaving Lufthansa.

Vranckx has a long history within the Lufthansa Group, having held various leadership positions in subsidiaries such as CFO and CEO. Currently, he serves as Chief Commercial Officer for the Lufthansa Group. His career trajectory has been marked by a deep understanding of the aviation industry and a wealth of experience in leading operations within the group.
