John Deere is on the hunt for a new Chief Tractor Officer to lead the company’s new TikTok channel. Entries for this position are being accepted until April 29, with finalists to be selected after May 17. The winner will receive up to $192,300 to travel across the country and showcase how John Deere products are used by workers in various settings.
The global director of strategic public relations at John Deere, Jen Hartmann, highlighted the importance of construction workers, farmers, and lawn care maintenance groups in our daily lives. To kick off the search for the Chief Tractor Officer, NFL quarterback Brock Purdy was featured in a promotional video. However, it is unlikely that Purdy will be able to take on the role due to his commitments during the football season.
This marks the first time that John Deere has used celebrities to promote itself. According to the contest rules, entrants must reside in one of the 48 contiguous states or Washington DC and AI-generated submissions are prohibited. Entrants have until April 29 to submit a 60-second video pitching why they should be chosen for the Chief Tractor Officer position. Five finalists will be selected and notified after May 17 based on criteria such as originality, creativity, quality, and brand knowledge.
