In the city of New York, there are currently 183,000 small businesses thriving. This number has increased by 62,000 new small businesses in the last two years alone. While many of these new businesses have sprung up in central business districts, the growth has been most pronounced in the outer boroughs.
North Brooklyn has experienced tremendous growth when it comes to small businesses, with an impressive addition of 1,000 new small businesses since 2019. This success highlights the diverse and dynamic nature of New York City’s small business landscape, offering opportunities for entrepreneurs across all neighborhoods.
To support and fuel this growing community of small businesses, city officials have announced the launch of the NYC Future Fund. This $10 million investment will help provide affordable capital access to small businesses that are on the brink of expansion and success. The goal is to ensure that these businesses have the resources they need to thrive and contribute to the economic vitality of New York City as a whole.
