Alain Biem has been appointed as the chief data science officer at New York Life. In this newly created role, he will lead the artificial intelligence team and focus on advancing AI and data science collaborations throughout the company.
Biem has over 25 years of experience in data science and previously worked at S&P Global Market Intelligence as the chief data scientist. He also held leadership positions at Wayfair, Operata Solutions, and IBM. Additionally, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at Advanced Telecommunications Research in Japan.
Don Vu, the chief data and analytics officer who joined New York Life in October 2023, emphasized the importance of AI and predictive analytics capabilities in today’s fast-paced business environment. He expressed optimism about leveraging data to drive innovation, growth, and efficiencies while delivering exceptional experiences for clients and agents. Vu highlighted that Biem’s expertise will play a crucial role in leveraging AI to further the company’s organizational transformation and advance its position as an industry leader.
