Newcastle United is not planning on adding an experienced player and former Premier League winner to their squad this summer, as reported by Sky Sports News. Instead, the focus for Magpies boss Eddie Howe is on making smart signings like defender Lloyd Kelly while following the Premier League’s PSR rules.
One position that is expected to see significant changes for Newcastle is the goalkeeper position. Loris Karius is leaving and Martin Dubravka is also likely to depart. There have been rumors that 36-year-old Asmir Begovic could join Newcastle after making a strong showing for QPR in the Championship last season.
However, those claims are not accurate, as the experienced goalkeeper will not be making a return to the Premier League with the Magpies. Instead, Newcastle is expected to bring in new goalkeepers during the summer transfer window, but Begovic will not be one of them.
