Newly Signed Second-Round Pick Mike Sainristil Ready to Join the Washington Commanders for Mandatory Minicamp

Commanders’ second-round draft pick Mike Sainristil agrees to terms on rookie contract

The Washington Commanders are currently in the process of preparing for their mandatory minicamp, which will begin on Tuesday. One of their recent moves was officially signing Mike Sainristil, a second-round pick. Sainristil is a 23-year-old wide receiver and cornerback who had a successful college career at Michigan.

During his senior season, Sainristil earned first-team All-Big Ten and first-team All-American honors, contributing to Michigan’s undefeated national championship season. Nick Saban, the former head coach of Alabama, praised Sainristil as the top pound-for-pound player in the 2024 NFL draft.

The Commanders have already signed some of their rookie class last month and are working to finalize the signings of the remaining players before the start of training camp next month. This news was first reported by Commanders Wire. With Sainristil expected to step into the starting slot cornerback position right away, Washington is looking forward to having him on board for their upcoming season.
